To Whom it May Concern:

The Alamo II is a commercial building set amid the sprawling Illinois State University campus in Normal, Illinois. We recently completed a massive exterior renovation, in which TOMKAT Roofing, Inc. of Streator played a major role. This letter of recommendation is to attest to their achievement in our project.

Since The Alamo II serves as the major student bookstore for some 22,000+ students in the center of campus, this project was both time and traffic sensitive. TOMKAT Roofing was very cooperative in working around our customers' safety and convenience.

The scope of this project required the unique combination of installing a membrane roof in the attic area before removing the shingles, sheathing, and trusses. Later demolition involved the removal of walls and slate shingles before installing a standing seam copper roof, (mansard type), overflows, and gutters. Coordination with other trades (i.e. masonry, electrical, carpentry, and mechanical) happened seamlessly and was instrumental for the success of this project.

We are very pleased with the results, and feel that TOMKAT Roofing did a wonderful job. We hope you give them (a well deserved) consideration for this Excellence in Construction Award.
